Sleepy Hollow Neighborhood

The Sleepy Hollow and Orinda Country Club neighborhoods, both with close proximity to Sleepy Hollow Elementary School, are some of the first established, more historic and charmingly rural neighborhoods in the Lamorinda area. The properties tend to have larger acreage, gated driveways and more architecturally significant homes with old world craftsmanship. The architectural style encompasses many early California ranch style homes, Spanish style homes built in the 1920’s and 1930’s, mid century classic contemporaries, as well as newer custom homes of varying design.  In the center of all of this tranquil beauty, is the prestigious Orinda Country Club with a beautiful 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, pool and new work out facility.  The original  Spanish Mediterranean  style club house opened its doors in 1925 and  still stands today.  The country club is situated in a magical oak studded park like setting.  The Sleepy Hollow Swim and Tennis Club offers the community a more relaxed neighborhood setting with a wide array of amenities and activities. During a typical morning you can see many residents out walking around Lake Cascade exemplifying the true community spirit that this area embodies. The neighborhood borders Briones Park to the north, offering easy access to hundreds of acres of hillside hiking and biking trails.

Sleepy Hollow Elementary School
One of four elementary schools in Orinda. Its student population is roughly 390 kids, and like all of the other Orinda elementary schools, the children benefit from an advantageously low student/teacher ratio. The school is nestled a midst  the oak trees of the Sleepy Hollow community and flourishes from the dedicated parent participation. The school and community celebrate and embrace the legend of Sleepy Hollow during the Halloween Season with school parades and festive carnival events.

The State of California benchmarks a score of 800 on statewide testing as educational achievement. Sleepy Hollow Elementary scores extremely high with a API (academic performance index) rating of 984 out of 1000.
