Del Rey Neighborhood

The Del Ray neighborhood is conveniently located near the award winning schools of Del Rey Elementary, Orinda Intermediate and Miramonte High School. This neighborhoods proximity to these great schools make this area very popular for families with children.

The traditional suburban neighborhood of Del Rey is tucked between the rolling hills of Orinda and the Moraga boarder. As you drive through this picturesque neighborhood you will almost always see children playing in cul-de-sacs, an abundance of ball fields, play structures being used and neighbors enjoying the many walking paths. Homeowners in this neighborhood enjoy the benefits of excellent schools, immense community pride, proximity to hiking trails, and easy access to St. Mary’s College sporting events.

The single level California ranch style homes in Del Ray were primarily constructed in the 1950’s through the 1970’s. There is much pride of ownership shown in these homes as many of them have been enhanced and remodeled to meet today’s required amenities.

The Del Rey Elementary School
The Del Rey elementary school is not only known for its excellent academics but also known for its fervent community participation. Most recently, 400 children from Del Rey Elementary participated and won the Guinness World Record largest Hula Hoop workout. The parent community at Del Rey Elementary school work together in their fundraising efforts. They have annual golf classics, walkathons, dolphin deli, and pumpkin patch events all to enhance the curriculum and enrich the schools environment. The State of California benchmarks a score of 800 on statewide testing as educational achievement, and the Del Rey Elementary School scored very high with an Academic Performance Index (API) rating of 965 out of 1000.
